Position Summary
– The Intern will provide support for Basketball Operations and Events, Europe and Middle East
– Interns will participate in training programs, events and activities designed to broaden their knowledge
of the NBA business
– They will focus on event research, organization and execution in NBA Europe’s region
– They will work on the Intern Think Tank project which will target an NBA specific business issue
throughout the course of the program culminating in a final presentation to NBA executives

Major Responsibilities
– Assist with the coordination, planning and organization of camps, coaching clinics, and kids clinics
– Assist with on court coaching, instruction, and demonstrations of basketball drills at camps and kids
clinics
– Assist with basketball development programs in the Europe and Middle East regions
– Assist and provide information to NBA Europe departments working on basketball development
programs, team camps and development camps (Community Relations, Events, Marketing, Int’l
Public Relations, Regional Offices)
– Research and develop basketball profiles on European and Middle Eastern countries
– Maintain and update basketball landscapes for Europe, Middle East, and Euroleague
– Assist with the compiling of articles for weekly NBA and International news updates
– Provide general support to the Events department in all necessary areas to successfully implement
departmental and corporate business plans
– Support management of the planning, logistics and execution of hospitality programs at NBA events
throughout Europe
– Manage travel logistics for NBA talent appearing at events in region and provide
documentations/reports on events
– Provide on-site support for selected NBA grassroots events
– Maintain open and ongoing communication lines with NBA offices in NJ and NY

Required Skills/Knowledge
– Fluency (written and spoken) in English; fluency in Russian or an additional European language
(Spanish, French) strongly preferred.
– Flexible personality with the ability to adapt to constant changing environment
– Ability to assist with on court coaching and instruction
– Demonstrated computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new
computer programs
– Excellent oral and written communication skills
– Independent worker who is able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
– Strong work ethic / internal motivation
– Ability to work well within a team environment
– Detail-oriented and very well organized

Experience Needed
– Recent basketball playing experience at high school level or above – preferably at an elite level
– Coached or worked with kids at youth basketball camps a plus
– Strong interest in coaching basketball
– International experience (travels/studies etc.)

Educational Background Required
– Current student enrolled full time in University at undergraduate/masters level or 2014 graduates.
